Christina Applegate About Living With MS
Christina Applegate barely makes it out of the door due to her disease multiple sclerosis (MS). I no longer have good periods, at most days when I make myself less miserable, the former actress tells the podcast Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend.
I hardly get out the door anymore, says the 53-year-old Applegate. If people only knew what my life was like, they wouldn’t be able to handle it. I can’t handle it myself either, it’s really leaden.
Earlier, the American actress said she has now been hospitalized more than 30 times because of her illness. Just getting up to go to the bathroom feels like walking barefoot through hot lava and needles, she says. “When I have a lousy day, my biggest fear is that this is the new normal.”
In 2021, the Married… with Children actress made public her MS diagnosis. The disease affects the central nervous system.
Since then, she was forced to stop acting and has been increasingly confined to a wheelchair.
