Sydney Sweeney Gained 30 Pounds
Sydney Sweeney has gained 30 pounds for her role in a biopic about boxer Christy Martin. The actress tells W Magazine about the intense preparation and physical changes she underwent for the film, which is set to be released in late 2025.
I loved it, says Sweeney of her role. I came on board to play Christy and I trained for about three and a half months. I started eating. I did an hour of weight training in the morning, about two hours of kickboxing in the afternoon, and another hour of weight training in the evening.
The American actress wore brown contact lenses and a brown wig for the role, among other things. My body was completely different. I didn’t fit into my clothes anymore. I’m normally a size 20 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 22. My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge.
It was crazy, says Sweeney, who previously starred in The White Lotus and Euphoria.
The film tells the life story of Christy Martin, who became famous in the nineties as one of the first boxers to put women’s boxing on the map.
Filming has been completed. The title of the film is not yet known.
