An eight-year-old boy from the United States ordered 70,000 lollipops from his mother’s phone. The shock for the woman was great when she saw that some $4,000 (over 3,500 euros) had been debited from her bank account.

The boy’s mother was very surprised when there were suddenly 22 boxes of lollipops on her doorstep, she told AP news agency and others.

Her little son had ordered the candy on Amazon when he was allowed to play on her phone. He wanted to host a carnival and share the lollipops with his friends.

The woman still wanted to refuse the order at the door, but the delivery man had already left at that point.

The shock intensified when the mother saw that the order cost about $4,000. Seeing the amount, I almost fainted. Moreover, the woman found out that thirty boxes were to be delivered, but eight packages were missing. She could still refuse those, so they could still be returned to the sender in time.

After a long day of talking to the bank and contacting various news media, Amazon called me so they could refund the money, the woman says.

She was eventually allowed to keep the lollipops.
