Academy To Award New Oscar For Best Stunt From 2028
The Academy Awards, better known as the Oscars, are getting a new category. The organization behind the most important film awards will award an Oscar for the best stunt from 2028.
The new category was announced after intensive lobbying, led by director David Leitch, who himself worked as a stuntman for many years.
The first Oscar for best stunt will be awarded in the year that the Oscars celebrate their 100th anniversary.
The Academy calls stunts an important part of the film industry. We are proud that we can finally honor the innovative work of all those professionals in this sector. And we congratulate the stunt sector on this victory.
Last year, the Oscar for best casting was created.
This award will be awarded for the first time in 2026.
