Robbie Williams will release a new album this fall, entitled BRITPOP. The British singer announced this on social media.
Williams has released the first single from the album, Rocket. He will also be doing a tour.
For the song Rocket, the 51-year-old Williams collaborated with guitarist Tony Iommi from the metal band Black Sabbath. Rocket is the first track to be released from the upcoming album.
According to Williams, BRITPOP was inspired by the period after his departure from Take That in 1995. I wanted to make the album that I wanted to write and release back then, he says. It was the height of Britpop and a golden age for British music.
The singer collaborated with artists he admires for the album. It’s raw, there are more guitars in it and it’s even more uptempo and compelling than my previous work, says Williams.
He says he is incredibly proud of the result. I can’t wait for the fans to hear this album.
