Chris Brown Resubmits Request For Release

Chris Brown is to file a new bail application, Reuters reports.

The American singer was arrested in a Manchester hotel on Thursday on suspicion of serious assault. He has been in custody ever since.

Brown, 36, is alleged to have caused serious bodily harm to a music producer in Tape London nightclub in the centre of the British capital in 2023. The singer was arrested last week after arriving in the United Kingdom.

During an initial hearing, the judge ruled that Brown should not be released on bail and should remain in custody until at least the next hearing. The next hearing is on 13 June in a London court.

The arrest has thrown the two-time Grammy Award winner’s upcoming world tour into doubt.

This is not the first time that Brown, known for hits such as Loyal and Run It, has been linked to violent incidents. In 2009, he was convicted of assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

In 2017, he was given a restraining order after threatening his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran.
