Lando Norris Steps Away From Social Media

Lando Norris has decided to ditch social media and is delighted with the decision. The McLaren driver sees it as a waste of time.

It’s just not something I like. I don’t need it. I haven’t been on social media for a while now, Norris told English media in Imola on Friday. It’s just not something I like. I don’t need it. It’s my life and I just want to do what I like.

Norris is one of the most popular drivers in Formula 1 and has 9.9 million followers on Instagram. He has often been open about his mental health issues and critical of his own performances.

His last post on Instagram was on May 9. I don’t like it on my phone as much as I used to, the 25-year-old Briton said.

Sure, I still use my phone to message my friends. But I see social media more as a waste of my time and energy. I just don’t need it.

Without social media, Norris says life feels more meaningful. I feel like I have more time to do things I really want to do, he said. I just want to spend time with my friends, play golf, train and do other things that are productive.

Norris won the first race in Melbourne this season, but has since been overtaken by teammate Oscar Piastri.

He has won four races and leads the championship by 16 points over Norris.

The season looks set to turn into a title battle between the two teammates.
