Homeless Man In California Buys Lottery Ticket And Wins
A homeless man from the United States has won $1 million in the California state lottery.
According to news channel KSBY, he will invest the money in a house and a car.
The man, whose identity has not been released, bought the winning ticket at a liquor store. The store manager announced the news on Instagram. According to him, the winner is a regular customer who lives on the streets.
The manager drove with the winner to Fresno, where the state lottery office is located. The winner actually wanted to exchange the ticket by mail, but the seller did not allow it.
No way. That ticket is worth $1 million, I’ll take you there, the manager allegedly told the man.
The winner wants to invest part of the money in a house. He also wants to buy a car and save up.
According to the state lottery, it will take several weeks to months before the money is actually paid out. First, the winner’s identity is thoroughly verified and it is investigated whether the winner owes any money to the state of California.
This is a standard procedure.
