Olivia Munn once turned down a multi-million dollar offer to keep quiet about a traumatic incident on a film set.
She refused to sign a nondisclosure agreement, the actress says in the podcast Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky.
It was so traumatic that I filed a complaint with the studio. But it got to the point where I was offered a lot of money, says the 44-year-old Munn.
According to the actress, it was a seven-figure amount. I had to, I think, accept their apology. But there was a nondisclosure agreement attached to it.
Munn had no intention of talking about the incident. Because I wanted to put it behind me. The reason she didn’t accept the offer was partly because she feared people would think she did it for the money.
The actress, who is known for films such as The Predator, Magic Mike and X-Men: Apocalypse, still believes she made the right decision. I remember feeling so proud when I walked away. I was so proud of myself.
Munn did not name names or for which film the filming was at the time. She also did not go into detail about what had happened.
The actress previously spoke about her negative experiences with director Brett Ratner.
During the height of the MeToo movement in late 2017, Munn was one of six women who accused Ratner of sexual harassment on the set of the 2004 film After the Sunset.
