Shakira’s Medical Records Leaked
Peruvian authorities have launched an investigation after Shakira‘s medical records were leaked on social media last week, AFP news agency reports.
The Colombian singer was taken to the emergency room in Lima on Saturday with abdominal pain.
A spokesperson for Peru’s health regulator confirmed that the investigation is in full swing.
The clinic where Shakira was admitted faces a fine of up to $430,000 (around 411,000 euros). The investigation is expected to last 25 days.
Shakira was forced to cancel her concert in Peru on Sunday due to her hospitalization.
I am very sorry that I cannot be on stage today. I was really looking forward to being back with my wonderful fans here in Peru, she wrote on Instagram on Sunday.
Shakira did not share anything further about her symptoms or the cause of them.
The 48-year-old singer will make up for the show in Peru on November 15.
