Kate Winslet Makes Directorial Debut
Kate Winslet is directing a film for the first time, reports British film magazine Screen Daily.
In addition to directing, the 49-year-old actress is also producing the Netflix film Goodbye June.
Winslet is producing the film together with Kate Solomon (Lee, United 93, Green Zone). The screenplay was written by Joe Anders, Winslet’s son.
Goodbye June is about a “broken family” in modern-day England that comes back together under “sudden and difficult circumstances”. Filming will start later this year in the United Kingdom.
Winslet, who won an Oscar in 2009 for her role in The Reader, can also be seen in the film.
Other actors who play in Goodbye June include Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall and Helen Mirren.
