Noah Cyrus credits therapy for overcoming a dark period, she tells Billboard. The 25-year-old singer was addicted to tranquilizers and had completely isolated herself from her family.
She said she didn’t want to live anymore because of it.
Milley Cyrus’s sister says she became addicted to tranquilizers at the age of twenty.
“I had just lost my grandmother at the time, and I felt distant from my family and my mother, who I’m so close to,” she says. “I was really going through a dark period and felt so alone.”
The singer was able to overcome the difficult period through therapy. Cyrus says she’s doing much better now and is proud that she sought help.
“Looking back, I never thought I’d ever be in a place where I could talk about my successes. I’m proud and happy that I stood up for myself,” she says.
Cyrus made a name for herself as a solo artist after releasing her debut single, “Make Me (Cry),” in 2016.
In 2018, her first EP, Good Cry, was released.
