Sia’s Ex Wants Full Custody
Daniel Bernad, Sia‘s ex-partner, has filed a petition in court for full custody of their son. He calls the 49-year-old singer unfit to raise their 19-month-old child, Somersault, People reports.
According to Bernad, Sia, known for songs like “Chandelier,” “The Greatest,” and “Titanium,” poses “a grave and present danger.” In his statement, he calls her, among other things, an “unfit and unreliable parent who struggles with substance abuse and addiction.”
The Australian singer denies the allegations, calling them “completely baseless and misleading.” She has stated that she struggled with drug and alcohol problems fifteen years ago, but says she has been completely sober for six months.
Sia filed for divorce earlier this year due to “irreconcilable differences.” Bernad, who previously worked as a radiation oncologist, is demanding approximately €215,000 per month in spousal support.
The singer already had two sons: in 2019 she adopted two teenagers who were eighteen years old at the time.
