Lily Allen says her recently released album, “West End Girl,” isn’t based on feelings of revenge. Although the album was largely inspired by her marital problems with actor David Harbour, the British singer tells The Hollywood Reporter she’s not angry.
Allen says she used the album, written in just ten days, to process her emotions during her divorce. The lyrics are a mix of fact and fiction, and she uses them to reflect on her heartbreak.
The forty-year-old singer says she’s not confused or angry. “I don’t feel the need for revenge,” she says.
Allen, known for hits like “Smile,” “Fuck You,” and “Hard Out Here,” married Stranger Things actor Harbour in 2020.
The couple announced their split in 2024. “West End Girl” is Allen’s first album since 2018.
