Jennifer Aniston asked NBC’s CEO for a special gift when the show Friends became a huge success. The actress recounts in the podcast Armchair Expert that she received a washer and dryer from then-NBC CEO Warren Littlefield.
“I’d heard stories about actors getting cars and other crazy things once they signed a contract,” says the 56-year-old Aniston in the podcast. “Friends was doing well.
And I thought, ‘I want expensive actor gifts too!’ Warren Littlefield, the NBC CEO, asked, ‘What do you want?’ And I said, ‘Just a washer and dryer.’ He wrote it down on a napkin.”
According to Aniston, Littlefield kept her word and ultimately received the appliance. The actress played Rachel Green on Friends from 1994 to 2004.
The six main actors each earned $1 million per episode in the final seasons.
