Bella Ramsey Didn’t Dare Leave The House For Months
Bella Ramsey suffers from emetophobia, an extreme fear of vomiting. The Last of Us actor was terrified of leaving the house for months because of the anxiety disorder. It was terrifying.
Ramsey, 21, was diagnosed with the anxiety disorder at age 13. Everything was a threat. You leave your house and it’s like you see germs everywhere, the actor explains in the podcast by documentary maker Louis Theroux.
I remember a kid in daycare throwing up in the sandbox. A little bit of vomit got on my red Crocs, which I thought was funny at the time. But since then, every memory of vomiting has been terrifying.
According to Ramsey, the anxiety disorder may be related to the actor’s autism. Not all autistic people have emetophobia, but when I got this diagnosis, a lot of things started to fall into place.
Ramsey was diagnosed with autism in March while filming The Last of Us.
