Katy Perry will be going into space later today and shows off the capsule on Instagram. She promises her followers to sing in space.
The artist is part of space flight NS-31 of Blue Origin, the space company of Amazon boss Jeff Bezos.
In a video, Perry walks through the small, round capsule in which six chairs are arranged. This is my chair, chair number 2, says the singer, who is wearing a blue spacesuit.
And this is my code name, Feathe,” she explains, pointing to the word on a screen hanging in front of the chair. After briefly humming a song, she says she will definitely sing in space.
For Perry, the space journey is a dream come true.
I can no longer say that I can’t believe that I’m really here, because I do, she says.
I am convinced that believing in your dreams and also saying them is the way to make them come true.
Only women will be going on the space journey. In addition to Perry, presenter Gayle King, film producer Kerianne Flynn, former NASA engineer Aisha Bowe, human rights activist Amanda Nguyen and Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sánchez will also be on board.
The rocket will rise to an altitude of 100 kilometers and remain there for ten minutes.
The capsule will then land in the desert in Texas.
