LeBron James Gets His Own Barbie Doll
The famous Ken doll is getting some competition, as LeBron James is making his entrance into the Barbie universe.
The basketball player is the first male athlete to get his own doll, Mattel reports.
James was chosen as the brand’s first Kenbassador because of his positive impact on culture, style and community over the past two decades, Mattel writes.
The new LeBron James doll costs $75, reports Reuters. The doll will be available from Monday at multiple stores and online via Amazon, Walmart and Mattel Creations.
As a young child, I was fortunate to have role models who not only inspired me, but also showed me what is possible with hard work and dedication, James says of his Kenbassador-ship.
Now, as an adult, I understand how important it is for young people to have positive figures to look up to.
The doll, which is an inch taller than the standard Ken, shows James in a varsity jacket, Nike sneakers and Beats headphones.
