Madonna & Elton John Settle Dispute
Madonna and Elton John have settled their dispute after decades. Madonna decided to visit John behind the scenes of the television program Saturday Night Live to talk about their conflict.
We have finally buried the hatchet, Madonna writes on Instagram with a photo of them together.
The 78-year-old John has often shown in recent years that he was not a fan of Madonna. For example, he accused her of lip-synching and called her music horrible. Madonna responded by saying that John was always jealous of her.
It really hurt me that someone I admired so much would talk about me like that in public. I didn’t understand it, Madonna writes in her Instagram post. When we saw each other, the first thing he said was ‘forgive me’.
The 66-year-old Madonna is happy that the dispute has been settled. Forgiveness is a powerful tool, she writes. After a few minutes we were already hugging each other. John even told Madonna that he would like to work with her.
As a young girl, Madonna always saw the British singer as a role model. I always felt like an outsider.
When I saw him on stage, I understood that it was okay to be different, to stand out. And that it was even good.
