Elton John Didn’t Want A New Solo Album
Elton John was horrified by the idea of making another solo album.
That’s why the 78-year-old singer is working with Grammy winner Brandi Carlile for his new album. If I had made another Elton John album, I would have done myself a disservice.
I knew for sure that I didn’t want to make another album like that, John tells The Sun. I wanted to show progress with the album, because I always try to look forward.
The 78-year-old singer says he needed the talent and energy of his good friend Carlile. Her humor and her brilliant lyrics. If you can’t make fantastic songs from that.
The two singers recorded the album in twenty days. Once we got going, it went like a rocket, like a bullet train.
The album includes the song Never Too Late, the title song of the documentary of the same name about John’s life. The single received an Oscar nomination.
Who Believes in Angels?, the joint album by John and Carlile.
The record contains ten songs.
